Meet the new Joy-Con 2 controllers

Meet the new Joy-Con 2 controllers, designed to attach and detach with ease. Strong magnets keep the controllers firmly attached to the console. Simply press the release button on the back to disengage the magnetic lock – and off they come.

The optical sensor on the side of each Joy-Con 2 controller lets you use mouse controls on surfaces like a table or your lap. Both Joy-Con 2 controllers can be used for mouse controls at the same time, opening up new ways to play.

All Together, Anytime, Anywhere

GameChat, a brand new feature on Nintendo Switch 2, lets a group of up to 12 people chat while playing games. You can share your game screen and up to four people can share their screen at the same time. Connect a compatible USB-C camera to see each other while you play.

With GameChat, you can play games and hang out like you're all in the same room, even if you're miles apart. Start a chat with friends or family anytime by pressing the C Button.

In games that support GameShare on Nintendo Switch 2, you can share games with friends and family – even if they don't own the game. Everyone can play together!

Three ways to play

Play compatible Nintendo Switch games

In addition to Nintendo Switch 2 games, Nintendo Switch 2 can play compatible physical and digital games that have been released on Nintendo Switch. Some Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.

By connecting your Nintendo Switch 2 to the internet, you can download free updates to improve resolutions, frame rates or add support for features such as GameShare in selected games. Selected Nintendo Switch games can be upgraded to a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition with an upgrade pack.
